Custom Arguments

Our custom commands allow for arguments. Don't worry if you don't know what that means, we'll explain in this article and hopefully, you'll understand by the end.

So, what are arguments?

Arguments are a way of customizing certain fields in bot responses, it's really helpful when we're working with custom commands.

How they work!

Let's say we're making a training session command we want the time and host to be included in the message.

Firstly, we'd fill out all the information on the Omero dashboard, before customising our response. Now this is the important command, you need to add an argument to sections of your response. Arguments are addressed in forms of {arg1}, {arg2}, {arg3}, etc.

Let's do an example, this is the command response we set on the Omero dashboard.

Here you can see the command has been ran, and with the custom arguments seen there as 2PM,Cal. (Make sure they are no spaces!

Arguments are an amazing feature and really enhance the customization of your commands. We hope the example made the concept of arguments more clear, now go run free and make something amazing! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out to our Discord Support Bot, and we'd love to help you out.
